To simplify our Feedback system we have now partnered with TRUSTPILOT: They will host our customer's comments and give us marks out of ten (or five) for quality of service, reliability, competence etc.
Lastly I cannot remember what the “resistance” function (high or low) is for and what the “wave switch” (half or full) is for . Which setting should I select and what is the purpose of these switches. Thankyou in advance…Charles Wheater

I’m in the process of refurbishing a Powermaster Variable controller circa 1957 – not easy to get spare parts for. I sent a quick email to Handem about the parts I required, I received an almost instant response from Andrew with an offer of all the parts I needed – plus some suggestions and very useful help. The parts were shipped the same day. I am seriously impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and quality of service from Andrew – thank, it is very much appreciated.

Great place to source spares for H&M controllers either physically or just to get the more detailed information not easily found elsewhere. H&M controllers are solid engineering and with some minor upgrades (silicon rectifier and case earthing for early models) will keep them going for years.

Ordered a clipper on tuesday, arrived friday well packed, as described and works like new. Would not hesitate to use Handem again.

I recently purchased an H&M Clipper for use with my Hornby, Bachmann and Lima 00 gauge locos. I purchased many of these locos from Hattons but operated them on a large club layout in Canada. All worked great on North American 120volts. I have now returned to the UK but wonder if I can use these locos with UK’s 240volts without causing damage. Or do I need a transformer to convert them to receive 240 volts,. I also have 2 power controllers which I used in Canada on the 120volt system …do I need a transformer for these too? 7 comments (Archived)
